The Berwyn Historical Society is pleased to share that our 2011 tour, Bungalows and More … A Tour off the Old Plank Road, was a success. Over 300 people participated in the one day house walk which featured interior guided tours of six historic Berwyn homes. The tour highlight was the Silhan House. The home is a well preserved art moderne style residence built in the 1930s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Five additional houses rounded out the tour and included bungalows as well as a Tudor revival style house.
We wish to thank this year's homeowners for graciously opening their homes to the public. We also wish to thank our sponsors who provided both monetary and in-kind donations for the tour. A shout out to our friend, Mr. Jon Fey, is also in order. He continues to support this event and this year, opened his Berwyn Route 66 Museum for the site of check-in for the tour.
We look forward to next year's tour and your participation.
